As Director of Strategy & Energy Consulting, Ilias is an established leader with a strong track record across energy policy, economics, and markets. He has conceived and delivered a wide range of high-impact policy and advisory campaigns spanning the energy transition — from heat decarbonisation and hydrogen to wider market and system reform.
Ilias joined Gemserv* in 2020. In 2023, Gemserv was acquired by Talan following its acquisition of Ecuity Consulting, a specialist policy consultancy that Ilias helped found and grow through to its successful sale. Gemserv established its Low Carbon Business Unit in 2020 to develop new consultancy capabilities, and under Ilias’s leadership this has grown substantially, evolving into today’s Strategy & Energy Consulting business unit.
Prior to Ecuity, Ilias worked as an energy policy consultant in Washington DC and Brussels, advising on European and international energy policy. A native Greek, he is fluent in English and also speaks Spanish and German.
