Improving steering and reporting systems with the support of Talan

Context
The company is an independent management center specialized in administering collective insurance contracts for Health and Provident benefits reimbursement. It operates on behalf of brokers and insurance companies, including a broker specialized in corporate insurance solutions (Health, Provident, Retirement, and Corporate Risks).
Key figures
Our client represents:
- 2 management sites
- 180,000 beneficiaries
- 150 partners
Challenges
Through its information system, the client provides the insurance broker with all the data required to produce Health and Provident statistical booklets for corporate clients carrying insurance risks.
The “myReport” reporting tool enabled the production of key management indicators required to steer the business. While some data sources could already be cross-referenced, several business domains were still not covered.
In addition, the migration to a new business software package significantly impacted the production chain for statistical reports and management indicators, which was already operating under tight deadlines.
The insurance company therefore called on Talan to address several key challenges:
- Improving its steering and reporting system
- Gaining better control over its data assets
- Simplifying data processing and reporting
- Increasing user autonomy in information retrieval and reporting production
- Delivering new services to brokers
The company also aimed to calculate steering indicators using data from multiple sources and to build a Data Warehouse primarily integrating all data from the IZY PROTECT module.
Methods and Solutions
One of the project’s specific challenges was that it started during the first COVID-19 lockdown, forcing all project teams to collaborate and move the project forward entirely remotely.
To meet the client’s needs and create a unified solution, Talan combined both Data and Digital expertise to deliver the project through a transversal approach.
To support the company in improving its steering system, Talan implemented a two-step approach:
The first phase consisted of a scoping study designed to analyze the existing environment, identify business needs, and propose scenarios along with a detailed implementation roadmap for short-term deployment of statistical reports and management indicators.
The second phase focused on implementing management indicators and developing the statistical reporting web application, including the construction of a Cloud architecture on Microsoft Azure through to production deployment.
Benefits
The new solution was very well received by users, who quickly adopted the application and now use it as their primary tool for producing management indicators.
Following this successful first phase, a V2 of the application was scheduled for release in 2022, integrating several major new developments.
Additional versions of the application are also planned for other target audiences, particularly insurers.
